The side charging handle is cheaply fabricated, if y'all accept the ability brand an aluminum copy and use that instead, that's what I did and I'm perfectly happy now.

It uses a polymer not-reciprocating side charging handle. I don't have whatsoever complaints well-nigh it's durability but, out of the box, information technology doesn't work with Magpul front sights. The sight gets in the mode of the handle. I had to make some pocket-sized modifications to both the sight and the handle with a Dremel to make it piece of work just it's perfect now. This is a great 9mm AR, it's condign one of my favorites to shoot.

I had the side charger version and couldnt get myself to similar it.. mine also wouldn't work right on the right side...probably user fault.

I sold the vii" upper and got the 5" with regular ar controls and i am extremely pleased with information technology. The lower and bolt are meridian notch parts honestly..

Since yous have it, I've always wanted to inquire, how is the bolt catch connected to the lrbho transfer bar? I wanted to replace it with a phase 5 ebl v3. Is that possible? And how yous you like the lrbho? Has information technology been reliable?

I have both. Get the scorpion. If you lot want an ar-ix, go cmmg radial delayed. Both are more than expensive, but y'all're ameliorate off. I accept a FM tri-lug upper on a Fm lower and it's been a nightmare for me. I sent it in once and need to ship information technology in again. Skillful customer service, very nice and helpful, but I just desire information technology to go bang every time.

I accept both as well. Gen 1 Scorpion SBR and an FM five" standard charging AR. Both are great guns honestly and I don't necessarily prefer 1 over the other (peradventure my scorpion because I've put more rounds through it). I wanted an AR-9 for a long time and Mike puts out a smashing product.

I've got a Foxtrot Mike, and I dearest it, but I ONLY went with it because it takes Glock mags. If that's not important to you then become for the Scorpion for sure.
